Colin Knight at Sean Hanna in the NHF Inspire Art Team

Colin Knight at seanhanna has won himself a place in the hair industries prestigious NHF Inspire Art team for 2012. The NHF Inspire Art Team includes talented hairdressers with expertise in all aspects of hairdressing from cutting, colouring, hair-up and extensions. The NHF Inspire team is managed by hairdresser Rebecca Dickenson and each year they are mentored by creative greats such as Charlie Taylor, HOB creative team, Sassoon creative team and for 2011/12 the British Hairdressing Artistic Team of the Year RUSH. Throughout 2012 Colin will be involved in editorial photographic shoots, seminars and educational shows.

Auditions for the team took place on Monday 5th September at the exclusive venue The Mayfair House in London. The shortlisted candidates for the auditions came from all over the United Kingdom to attend. Before being shortlisted Colin had to submit a photograph of his work and CV entry form. The shortlisted stylists, including Colin, were then selected to attend auditions in London.

On the day, a total of eleven stylists, attended each with their own model. Once having the brief explained Colin had just 40 minutes to deliver and create an editorial/consumer female look which would be suitable for a front cover for either a hair trade magazine or Glamour magazine, something which would impress the judges. The stylists then had to do a presentation with their model to the judges along with a short interview. The four judges were looking for candidates with impressive, creative, photographic and editorial flair.

“I’m so happy and humbled to have made the team! Being part of the NHF is a massive achievement and is a great stepping stone for me to enter other competitions in the future. It’s also a brilliant opportunity to work alongside other talents art teams.” says Colin Knight.
